Tsunku throws us questions

by Zush

On March 13. Tsunku♂ posted a quite cryptic tweet to his new Twitter account. Cryptic or more than clear, it’s up to you to decide.

First sentence is surprisingly in English and has kind of question in it: “°C-ute … add a new member?” The last sentence is in Japanese and also it is a question: “どうすればいいでしょうか”. I guess roughly translated it means: “What should I do?”

Now, do we have a piece of news here? Has Tsunku started to think that °C-ute should have more than five members after Erina’s and Kanna’s departures?

And after this more questions keep flowing in. What could be the time frame for adding new member(s) to °C-ute? Is there going to be new auditions or maybe Tsunku already considers the potential candidates from inside his H!P Empire?

Calm young women

by Zush

Maria Sharapova made her return to the highest level of womens pro tennis last weekend by winning Jelena Jankovic in Toray Pan Pacific Open tournament in Tokyo. Although Maria’s victory in this final was a walkover because Jelena had to retire due to a right wrist injury it does not take away the fact that Maria is finally getting herself fit again. She was forced to stay away from tennis courts about nine months because of her right shoulder injury last year. This was her first victory after she returned to Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in August 2009.

But why on earth I’m talking about Maria Sharapova here? Simply  because she is one of my idols. Because I adore her. And also because I’m now also talking about Maimi Yajima. You don’t need to believe me but the truth is I see many similarities between Maria and Maimi. Heh he, right, their names begin with the same letter but there is much more in common with these ladies than that.

If you take a look at them you sure can agree with me that they both are grand and stunning young women. Not anymore giggling little girls but cool and calm beauties. They hold their heads proudly up and when they look at you it’s not exceptional that you get mesmerized, you lose your ability to talk and in “worst” case you faint because your heart gets overdose of strange enjoyable feelings.

Maimi and Maria are both so-called classic beauties. There is not too much (or too little) anywhere in their character and looks. They don’t stress anything in a tacky ways. I would like to say they are both natural and have high self-esteem and self-confidence. In other words: They are strong.

I adore / lover / worship strong and independent women.

As there has lately been a trend with these graduating H!P members to go to the model career one thing I want to say is that in my eyes Maimi is the only real serious model in the whole H!P Dynasty. Risako is coming close but she’s still so young. Koha is talented of course but what to say about soon graduating Erika from C-ute? Better not to say anything. Period.

C-ute clean up

by Zush

Now, at this very moment, when almost the whole Hello! Project fan blogosphere is thunderstrucked about Erika Umeda’s graduation announcement and still trying to recover from Kanna Arihara’s departure all I can say is that this clean up seems to be a very healthy evolution for C-ute.

Of couse this is only my personal opinion but hey, all these kind of fan based things are. So why should I be sorry about saying that Kanna’s and Erika’s deaprtures make C-ute more nifty, more solid and also more powerful.

To be honest, Kanna was always background girl in C-ute. I like (note that I’m not talking in past tense) her individuality and kind of insurgency but she never was at home in C-ute. I guess we still don’t know what was the real reason Kanna left C-ute and H!P but I hope to see her in an other group in the future. In the group that suits for her better than C-ute. Something alternative rock, punk-ish maybe?! But far away from the idol world. Kanna, if you happen to read this, remember that I’m waiting.

Then there is Erika. C-ute’s tallest girl who never got me convinced. Most of all every time she was trying to be so-called-funny I felt quite embarrassed. Her overacting wasn’t hilarious and when I watch C-ute’s concert DVDs I try to avoid those Erika-centered skits between songs. In spite of that I wish Erika a happy and challenging future in the trendy fashion world. I have an inkling that she is going to do there quite well.

As you might know Erika and Kanna are not the only ones who have left C-ute. Megumi Murakami got sacked in 2006 as a result of her “boyfriend scandal”. At that time I wasn’t yet a C-ute fan but her departure gets me still thinking what kind of C-ute might have been if she had not left the group.  Because Megumi was good singer and as I look old video clips of her today I must say that I like her character. Maybe she was also kind of rebel in C-ute? Hmmm, maybe C-ute is not for rebel girls at all.

Soon we have 5 nin C-ute and it’s fine for me. We are going to have a compact group with inner and outer harmony. But I’m hoping that after Erika’s graduation (October 25th) we don’t see any more departures. Because if any of these remaining 5 members leave the group it would significantly hurt the chemistry of C-ute.

Reservoir Cutie

by Zush

This is not first time I see fan made picture of C-ute’s Chisato with gun. And that keeps me still wondering what’s behind this rather odd set of young girl & handgun.

In this case the context is C-ute’s forthcoming great single Forever Love. Here in this fan art we see Chisato almost like taken out of one scene of Quentin Tarantino’s (hah ha, again that director) Reservoir Dogs.

Back to the question. It’s well known fact that girls or women and arms go well together in adult entertainment world. It’s kind of fetish thing. Some find that combination even seductive. But as we have here young 14 years old girl with shiny gun I hear somewhere in the distance an alarm bell ringing. Actually there must be two alarms ringing in the same time.

If it’s not erotic desire this picture is trying to light up then what it is? Is this only cute composition? Or is there any deeper meaning, some kind of hidden message, in it? I guess I have no smart answers to these questions. But for me these fictional works of Chisato with guns are just cool. Without any sexual nor deeper meanings.
