Sweaty Summer Berries, Dozo!
So here it is. New dvd with a breathless long title that goes like this: Berryz Koubou Summer Concert Tour 2006 “Natsu Natsu! ~Anata wo Suki ni Naru Sangenzoku~”.
I’ve watched it now two times so here’s a quick review on it. I leave deeper analysis willingly to one and only Ray @ American Wota.
After first viewing I was wondering if this concert documentation wasn’t as good as previous Nyoki Nyoki Champion. It seemed to be less surprising. But I wasn’t sure about that. Last night I placed myself nicely on my futon sofa and gave this concert recording another chance. And what happened? I begun to like it more and more.
It’s hard to say which one ot these two is better but there is several reasons why I love also this new one.
Reason 1 : All girls sing better than in Nyoki Nyoki. And this is a very notable remark. Risako for example has always had hard time with keeping her singing voice stable & clear. Now, I think, she can master her vocals better than ever. However Miyabi is still the best singer in Berryz.
Reason 2 : All girls look better than ever. That’s a fact! We can see that these girls are growing up fast. They are on that stage of life when they are getting more mature looks. Yeah, you certainly know what I mean. And who’s the most beautiful in my eyes. Not surprise, she’s Miiya. But take a close look also at super kawaii Risako and well-featured Maasa. And then there is charming Chinami, who has now found her way on my Berryz girls Top 3 list to number three right after Miiya & Risako. I love Chinami’s chatty & high-spirited character. And what about Yurina, Saki & Momoko? All looking so adorable.
Reason 3 : Good songs in quite good balance. Highlight of this concert for me is four song combo before encore songs: 21ji Made no Cinderella, Special Generation, Nanchuu Koi wo Yatteruu YOU KNOW? and Jiriri Kiteru. The last one is absolutely the best Berryz song & has best choreography so far.
Reason 4 : Costume sets are not bad either although I don’t like those “funny little hats” they are wearing in encore.
Reason 5 : As always concert dvd comes with extra back stage & practice session clips. Girls being funny & having a good time. Momoko eating cucumber bits, that’s just so luvely.
