What can I say? As I have already stated, she is now my number one H!P girl. I have this feel that one day Miiya is gonna be one of those great Stars in Japanese idol biz. Why? Why not! She’s already awesome in Berryz and day by day she is getting better.

This weekend August 18.-20. there is an Animecon IV event in Helsinki. Lot of anime, manga & Japanese popular culture stuff there. And of course kawaii & kakkoii cosplayers everywhere because there is also competitions for ‘em.

So it’s official: There really is lot of cool cosplayers in Finland!
Now when many of you have already gone completely wild with that latest movie version of “Sukeban Deka” a.k.a. “Yo Yo Cop Girl” I must tell you that there is also another must-see Kung Fu / Ninja (or whatever label you want to put on it) movie coming to it’s premier. And what’s amazing it’s a Finnish production! First major Kung Fu film from Finland, my home country (up in northern Europe).
I’ve seen some short clips from this forthcoming movie and I’m positively surprised how it’s been put together, how well it manages to catch this genre’s style & tradition. You should know that we are talking about Finland where there is zero tradition with this kind of Far East oriented movie making. Finland’s most known directors Kaurismaki & Harlin don’t do kung fu movies.
“Jade Warrior” is a classic epic love story about – surprise surprise – battle between good and evil. It combines Finnish and Chinese mythologies into one film. There is shades of Finnish national epic Kalevala mixed with Kung Fu genre stuff. Jade Warrior is set in ancient China early iron age and present day Finland. The past is feeding the story in present day, slowly revealing our warrior his real origin, his superior skills and his destiny.
In leading roles there are Finnish actors Tommi Eronen & Markku Peltola with Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu. Jade Warrior is directed by Antti-Jussi Annila and this is his first long feature movie.
Jade Warrior’s world premier is at Toronto International Film Festival in September 8th. I don’t know yet when it’s coming to your location (US, Europe, Thailand, Japan etc.) but if and when they show Jade Warrior in your country make sure to see it.
Today’s menu: No fun! Because exactly six months ago Ai Kago, the other half of H!P duo W, was suspended because of smoking in a restaurant. This really is sad half an year’s anniversary. We didn’t expect that Aibon is gonna be away this long period.
What bugs me most is how Up-Front Agency still manage’s these kind of things. In Aibon’s case it’s total news blackout. Not even half an word after they gave their notice and sent her away. And when time goes by my pessimistic thoughts keep rising. Of course there has been encouraging rumors going on but then again those are only rumors and speculations. I mean, 6 months! It’s a hell long of time to be away from show biz.
All we can do is… keep our fingers crossed and hope the best. And that’s not much.
More I see Miyabi Natsuyaki (夏焼雅) more I’m thinking her as my number one H!P girl now after Konkon has left the spotlight. Yeah, I must face da truth. And it’s not easy. There’s still Marippe, there’s Maki, there’s Ayaya and of course there’s Risa, Reina & Risako… but this is just like a love affair. It comes like a stroke of lightning and after that… well there you are feeling dizzy & completely happy.
Some symptoms:
1) Every time I hear Miyabi singing I fall in semi-deep trance.
2) Her smile makes me smile. She makes my day.
3) When watching Berryz PVs etc. my eyes are first lookin after Miiya
Other purely subjective remarks:
1) Miyabi is best singer in Berryz Koubou.
2) Miyabi looks great what evar she wears.
3) She is also generally speaking best dancer in Berryz Koubou.
4) She can play basketball.
5) She blushes gracefully (little shy)
By the way, Saitama born Miiya’s 14th birthday is soon: August 25th.
